Policies your committee
can actually adopt.
Every board needs clear governance policies, and too many write them from scratch at the last minute. These are free to copy, adapt and adopt — yours to keep, whether or not you ever use Bilby Business.
Take it
Read it on the page or download the PDF. Nothing to sign up for, no email required.
Change it
Fill in the brackets and cut what doesn't fit. Every template says what you need to decide for yourselves.
Adopt it
Circulate it with the agenda, move the motion, record the version in the minutes. Done properly, it's a five-minute item.
Share it back
Improved one, or written something we haven't? Send it in — we credit every contributor.
The library
Conflict of Interest Policy
A parent's business quotes for the fete. Someone's partner applies for the canteen role. This is how you handle it properly — and prove you did.
MoneyFinancial Controls Policy
Two signatures, clear limits, and a bank account nobody can operate alone. The policy that keeps volunteers safe as much as the money.
You won't find a child safety policy or a food safety policy here. Both sit under state regulatory schemes that differ meaningfully across Australia, and a template adopted verbatim in the wrong state is worse than no template at all. For those two, start with your state's education department, your state P&C or P&F body, and your local food authority.
Send us your policy
Your committee has already solved something another committee is struggling with tonight. Send it in, tell us how you want to be credited, and we'll publish it under the same open licence as everything else here.
A real person reads every submission. Nothing is published automatically.
